About Euro-therapies

Helping All Ages and Abilities Live Their Best Life

1999- Euro-Peds was founded in Pontiac, MI as a part of North Oakland Medical Center as a follow clinic for children with cerebral palsy whose families were taking them to EuroMed a rehab center in Nepal, Poland for specialized, comprehensive therapy following a regimented program with use of the Universal Exercise Unit and Suit therapy. Euro-Peds original staff was trained in this philosophy. Euro-Peds did evolve to incorporate evidence-based practice for custom and individualized therapy for each child while still utilizing certain tools/equipment and philosophies from Europe as appropriate. Euro-Peds was the leader in North America for treatment of neurological and neuromuscular diagnoses when it was opened in 1999.

2015- North Oakland Medical Center closed and Euro-Peds was purchased by private owners and moved to another location in Pontiac, MI to continue serving its clients as a private outpatient facility.

Around 2016, speech language pathology services were added to be able to offer another complimentary service to PT for our patients.

In 2018, an program specific for adult physical therapy was created. This was in part because many of our patients that started coming in 1999 were becoming adults and there was a need for continued therapy.

In 2021, the name of the clinic was changed to Euro-Therapies Family Therapy Center to be all encompassing of the diverse population that we treat here.

In 2023, another location for adult physical therapy was added in Dearborn, MI to service more patients.

This year (2024), we are excited to be adding ABA Therapy to our list of services.

What Makes Euro-therapies Unique

With more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Euro-Therapies in Southeast Michigan is a leading source for outpatient therapy.

We were North America’s first pediatric intensive therapy provider, helping thousands of children with neuromuscular disorders since 1999. Many of these families still count on us today to support their needs for increased mobility and also look for other coordinating therapies. It’s one of the reasons we now treat adults and have added ABA therapy to our list of services.

Our Process

Euro-Therapies believes our commitment to patients is the reason for the Center’s lasting success. Our philosophy is simple – Help each person reach their fullest potential through customized therapy programs and make it fun! No two patients are alike. Therefore, no two treatment plans are either.

Our therapy clinic near Bloomfield Hills, Pontiac, and Auburn Hills, MI, has multiple therapy options for all ages so you or your loved one can achieve the best results.

"I can't say enough good things about Euro-Therapies! My daughter just finished her two week intensive and made so much progress. She reached the goals we set for her during her first session, but more than that, she's gained so much confidence. Their PTs are absolutely amazing and the entire staff made us feel at home from the very first day. We can't wait to return this Spring for another intensive!"

- Stephanie

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"From the second you walk through the front door, you are greeted with an amazing receptionist, your therapist takes you right into the room and getting started on therapy. We had Colleen who was simply amazing and my son Weston loved working with her! Colleen figured out what worked and what didn't work for Weston and adapted to his needs."

Our Team

Jessica Wathen- Director

Ciera Melton, PT, DPT -Director of PT, Pediatric Physical Therapist

Ciera received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Oakland University. While completing her education, Ciera was a therapy aide here at Euro-Therapies, which allowed her to gain valuable experience that she now shares with her patients and families.

Ciera’s passion for Physical Therapy comes from her own experiences. Having to attend PT as a child for a developmental hip disorder, her experience was, in her words, “not entertaining.” Ciera wanted to make Physical Therapy for children a fun and beneficial experience. She accomplishes this for her pediatric patients by customizing a treatment plan around the child’s likes and needs.

Ciera is Introductory Level B DMI certified with plans to continue through Introductory Level C. She is certified through the APTA as a Level 1 APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor.  She is the Education Director for the APTA Michigan Pediatric Special Interest Group.

Outside of work, Ciera enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog rooting for University of Michigan Sports teams, visiting family, and entertaining friends.

Rachelle Wagner, PTA

Rachelle attended Michigan State University (Go Green), where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. After graduation, Rachelle began working at Euro-Therapies as a therapy aide while she completed her Associate of Health Science Degree, PTA, at Mott Community College.

After watching her grandfather struggle with and then beat pancreatic cancer, Rachelle knew she wanted to help people in a healthcare setting. In high school, her desire to practice physical therapy was solidified after spending a lot of time in the athletic trainer’s office before and after practice.

When Rachelle is not treating her adult or pediatric patients, she can be found hanging out with her family & friends, training the new family puppy, and enjoying the outdoors.

Colleen Murray, PTA

Colleen’s devotion to physical therapy comes from her first-hand knowledge of its benefits. She is continually inspired by her brother, who has overcome challenges related to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy diagnosis. The bond she shares with her sibling has also motivated her to co-found a foundation that grants bucket list experiences to individuals with a physical disability.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Colleen came to Euro-Therapies with a Bachelor’s in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Her passion for treating neurological disorders prompted Colleen to continue her education at Villa Maria College and become a physical therapist assistant.

Colleen enjoys traveling and attending sporting events in her off-time, wildly cheering on the Buffalo Bills whenever possible.
